December Kindle Fire Giveaway

Hey Peeps! As you know, in the past few months I’ve been running a monthly giveaway here on IBIH that is usually a group of prizes that the winner can choose from. This month I decided to choose one prize, the all new 7″ Kindle Fire HD!

I’ve decided to give away the Standing Origami Case (awesome if you’re following recipes from it while cooking) as well, and you get to pick the color you want if you win!

To enter using the rafflecopter widget, simply click the link to the color choices on amazon and pick the color you want if you win. Cut and paste the url address (if you’re not sure what a url address is here’s an example: from the page where you chose your color back into the rafflecopter widget. That’s it, you’re entered! There will be a list of ways to increase your chances of winning in the widget as well (liking, subscribing, sharing, etc.)

This contest is open to everyone regardless of your location, but any winner outside of the continental US will receive an Amazon gift card for $150 instead of the Kindle Fire and cover. You may email me with any questions at sevigm(at)yahoo(dot)com.

The contest will run from December 5, 2013 to December 16, 2013 at 12am EST. The winner will be notified via email and will have 24 hours to respond before a different winner will be chosen.

Great giveaway woman. I need to get back to reading again. I feel like all I do lately is work. This would be great for laying in bed at night winding down after a long day.

What a great giveaway! I’ve been a fan for awhile. Already a subscriber, so the widget said it sent an email to update my preferences. Hope that works! Anywho, thanks again, Melissa, for all you do.

Love your site and love your food, easy for an 77 year old bachelor to cook.

I do have a problem when trying to enter your give away contest. I go to Amazon, and view the product, then I get a box labeled “Giveraway”, and it shows loading….Forever.

        Private comment……
I am down now from 296 to 228/231, all low carb, and some recipes from your site. After I sent in the comment I discovered it was over.
Thank you for being you, and for your sharing. Merry christmas and Happy Holidays,

PS> If you partially dry pre sliced cheese, (I use the “3 cheese.” kind, cut in strips about 3/4 – 1 inch wide,) to the point that is about like fruit leather, bend without cracking, and nuke if for a bit the slices will swell to about 3/16 thick and will get dip chip hard. too dry, or too long nuking, will either not allow enough moisture to swell, or they will scorch inside.
If you would like to experiment I would love to see it on your site. If you use a scales and weigh a slice, you can find the right moisture content and duplicate the results. Have fun

Mellissa, Have Fun. When I made my batch, I weighed a new slice of cheese, then weighed it again after it had dried some, divided the smaller end weight by the larger beginning weight, x 100 to get the moisture percentage. this way I figured I could duplicate the experiment.
Unfortunately I slept since then, and forgot the number, but I think it was around 12%. Needs some moisture to puff up, but not so much that it melts, and runs.
Need to do some more testing, once the moisture lost is measured, this way with a scales, it should be easily duplicable. After that it would be a cook time test in the microwave.
They were worth the effort. So hopefully soon I will experiment again, but this time post the results. I will put several slices in a dehydrator, and then cut off slices, and nuke them when I find the working slice, I will do the measurements, and this time record the moisture percentage, and the time in my nuke.. At least it will be a starting point to work out a good method of making them.
Also some of the meat rubs, or a rub of your own with less salt, will give you flavored chips. Ummmmmm Bacon,,,,
My “Diet” lost out today. Two Christmas Eve dinners, and a Christmas dinner tomorrow. I did forgo the potato’s, pasta, and deserts.

Thanks William, I’ll have to break out my food scale and give this a go! Don’t beat yourself up too much about the “cheating,” just get back on track ASAP and I’m sure you’ll be fine!
