I just started Atkins with my hubby to drop these unwanted pounds. He did it years ago and lost 50 pounds! He did it right before the New Year and still lost 20 pounds. I’m ready to get on board. I’m still in the beginning phases but LOVE your blog because I’m ready to start low-carb eating as a lifestyle and knowing that someone is out there cooking (I’m a terrible cook…) and giving out recipes is REALLY encouraging! Thank you!

Hi Sophie! Welcome to IBIH and I wish you all the best with low carb! You can do this! I’m happy that my recipes will help you along – just hang in there through the first week or two and it’ll be smooth sailing after that! Keep us posted on your progress – hopefully we’ll be reading your success story over on the forum soon! :)

Cooking is not my strong point to begin with, let alone finally deciding that low carb/Atkin-ish is the best diet plan for me, so I was thrilled to find your site from Pinterest. Just wanted to say thank you and am looking forward to trying out new things!

I would really like to see week 1&2. This sounds really good and every thing I have been reading suggests this is the best way. Thanks, Anita

I’ve shared many of your recipes the past few months on my FB weight loss page. I find them to be good for just about anyone interested in healthy eating and weight loss. I also just shared a link to your “about” page here, as I know the Girlfriends will enjoy reading your blog and getting the newsletters, too. Keep up the great work! 5. Erin

Hi, I have been following you in FB and get your newsletters. I have tried some recipes and I loved them. I am interested in trying the Keto diet however, I am a single mom to a 12 yr old daughter. She is lactose intolerant and I fear she has a gluten intolerance due to the “chicken skin” she has on her face, arms and chest. Despite anything the dermatologist has prescribed the conditions persists. I don’t really want to make 2 different meals for us so is the keto diet safe for her? I don’t want to restrict her caloric intake either. She is very active and needs the carbs. Any thoughts would be helpful.

It’s hard to say Erin, I’m not a doctor. If you’re saying she needs the carbs then keto isn’t for her. If you do keto and just make her a side dish to go with it that has some carbs in it then that’s an option. I would definitely try her out on gluten free though and see if it helps her skin issues.

Help…I’m a vegetarian with diabetes and gluten intolerance. Please add me to your emails so I can get any recipes that will work for me. Just found your cream cheese pancakes on here and can’t wait to try them.

Hi Marlene, I don’t actually sell DE – I just recommend it to people based on my personal experience with it! However you can buy it at a good price on Amazon or at your local health food store probably – just be sure it’s food grade. Here’s a link: Food Grade DE

    Hi Mellissa,

I just love your website! Hopefully you will continue to post more menu plans? Your 12 week menu plans are great and I would love to see more. You have made eating low carb so easy and it’s the first time in years that I have actually found a way of eating that works for me as I struggle with food sensitivities and hypoglycemia. Just love love love your website!

Thanks for all you do to help lo carbers, etc. I just made your buffalo omelet on the egg fast and it was so delicious I ate 2 servings! I would eat that anytime on a regular lo carb day. Your recipes are superior.

I keep trying to deep fry your apple cider donuts and they keep burning.I have never had this problem before.I have the temp right, even tried lowering the temp , making them thinner and frying them longer yet they start to blacken again. If I take them out when they are lighter the middle is raw.I am using a stainless steel pan and canola oil.Does coconut flour etc. tend to burn like that? Thanks for your response Deb

Mine were on the dark side but definitely not burned Deb – not sure why that’s happening! Is the bottom of your pan really thin? If so you might need a heavier bottomed pan to distribute the heat better – that’s my only guess, sorry!

Hi – new to your blog – “love it” I have done low carb off and on for years because it works. I am insulin resistant and have a hard time keeping weight off unless I follow a low carb lifestyle. I have not heard of the “egg fast” and I am going back on the strict low carb lifestyle again (because I quickly packed on 15 lbs.) and wondered if you or anyone that participates here could tell me would you recommend starting with “egg fast” and then to an Atkins approach or vise-versa? Any tips or pointers are appreciated!

    I look forward to responses!
