I’ve been pretty vocal this year about how much I was over all of the pumpkin recipes that were flooding the interwebs as early as July. That doesn’t mean I don’t love pumpkin recipes though – it just took me longer to get into the spirit than everyone else! Now that the weather has cooled and apple season is wrapping up, I thought I’d put together a list of some of my favorite gluten free pumpkin recipes, along with some that I’m planning to try soon!
If you’ve been feeling frustrated or depressed about yourself or a family member going gluten free, then this list is for you! There are so many resources available these days that make the gluten free lifestyle easier! Pinterest is your friend – I found most of these recipes with a simple search. The hardest part was narrowing them down to just ten, because there are literally thousands of gluten free recipes to be found!
When you’ve got a hankering for some homemade gluten free pumpkin recipes, here are a few that will impress your friends and make you look like a gluten free rockstar! (Click on the title to get taken to the recipe page.)
Let’s start with breakfast, shall we? Gluten free pancake recipes abound, but this gorgeous stack of pumpkin heaven from House of Brinson towers above them all! Fluffy and satisfying, you’ll never miss the gluten in these pancakes! Pass the syrup please!
Feeling indulgent? How about these lovely pumpkin flavored cinnamon rolls to have with your morning coffee? Oh if only Petite Allergy Treats delivered – I’d be their best customer for life! As an added bonus, these are also dairy, egg, nut, and soy free!
The fall season would just not be complete without pumpkin pie, and Gluten Free Goddess has you covered with this super fancy version! I love the idea of the crunchy praline to offset the smooth custard of the pie filling! Combined with that coconut-pecan crust, this might just be the best gluten free pumpkin pie you’ve ever tasted!
Love the flavors of pumpkin pie but hate all that work? Carol from Ditch the Wheat made this beautiful and easy pudding in her guest post for me last year. Smooth and creamy, it’s not only gluten free but dairy free as well!
These decadent cookies from Chelsea’s Messy Apron almost made my eyeballs fall out when I first saw them on Pinterest! TWO different kinds of chocolate chips in there (and lots of them,) make these gluten free gems gooey and super delicious! What’s also nice is that you don’t need any fancy or expensive gluten free flours to make them – just grind up some regular oats in a blender or food processor and you’re good to go!
This super cute snack mix from Gal on a Mission is perfect to throw in a baggie when you need a quick nosh. What kid wouldn’t love getting this packed in their lunch box as a special treat? All of their gluten eating friends will be super jealous and begging for a handful, so be sure to pack enough to share!
This cool and creamy concoction from Overstuffed Life reminds me of a pistachio flavored dessert that a family friend used to make when I was a kid. It was always a huge hit at parties, and I’m sure this pumpkin flavored version would be just as popular! It’s also super easy to make and you could substitute sugar free pudding and whipped topping to keep the carbs under control!
Let’s not forget the pumpkin seeds people! This savory pumpkin seed hummus is not only gorgeous, but loaded with healthy phytonutrients! This would be the perfect make-ahead gluten free appetizer to bring to your next party or to nosh on while watching your favorite team crush the competition this season. Or maybe you could drown your sorrows in it if they lose. Either way, this creative gluten free hummus recipe is a winner!
Your favorite peanut butter and chocolate combo can only be made better by the addition of pumpkin, as proved by these little cuties from Diethood! I’m pretty sure I don’t have to say anything more to convince you to try them – JUST LOOK AT THAT PICTURE! Now go make them and then send me a dozen. Thanks.
This gorgeous cake from Carolyn Ketchum at All Day I Dream About Food has been haunting my dreams for months. I love it when she uses words like brown butter – how can you resist that? I think it’s high time I finally made this masterpiece my own – maybe by this weekend I’ll be having a slice with my morning coffee. I won’t be feeling guilty about it either, because this cake isn’t just gluten free, it’s also low carb – now that’s what I call a WIN/WIN!
Well if this list doesn’t convince you that you can enjoy the same delicious seasonal treats as everyone else while eating gluten free, then I don’t know what will! Feel free to link up to your faves in the comments!19
