$5.00 $2.50 !!!!!
So I’ve been kicking the idea of launching a low carb and gluten free online magazine (aka. e-zine) around for awhile. I’ve been doing some work behind the scenes, and finally decided to get started with it – or at least a very light version of one.
This first issue is just recipes to start, but I’m lining up contributors to write articles on health, fitness, lifestyle, and other subjects that are relevant to people who follow a low carb and/or gluten free eating plan. Celiacs, Diabetics, Keto, Paleo – we’ll try to have a little something for everyone!
I’ll divulge more details as we get them worked out, but for now, let’s focus on this issue, which contains “25 Recipes that Celebrate Summer!”
Within these virtual pages are contained every recipe you could possibly need to make it through the Summer with your diet intact! Complete with an intro, a pantry section, and a table of contents with hyperlinks, navigating around these recipes will be a walk in the park! And of course, each recipe includes nutrition information to assist you in budgeting your calories, carbs, fat and/or protein!
I really think these are some of my best low carb and gluten free recipes to date! These recipes are unique to this publication and won’t be featured on the blog or in another book – so get them while you can! I’ve even included some cocktails to help you get your sip on, for little to no carbs per serving! No matter what the occasion, we’ve got you covered!

Purchased the bundle today and downloaded it to my iPad with no trouble. 2 of the 3 documents look scrumptious!!! The Fall e-zine, however, downloaded OK but I can’t get the Summer e-zine to let me back into the iBooks library so I can open it. Any idea of what I should do?
Mellissa Sevigny says
Hi Lucy, send me an email to sevigm@yahoo.com and I’ll send you a new download link!

Mellissa,

I just bought this book and cannot wait to rip through all of these recipes! Your book The Gluten Free Low Carber is a must-have in my kitchen! May I make a humble suggestion? It would be really helpful if, in addition to the number of servings in each recipe, it also had the size for the serving (for example, four servings, one cup each). I hate having to measure the whole recipe and then having to divide in order to figure out a serving size and every cookbook does this. Maybe I am just too obsessive though. :)
Mellissa Sevigny says
Thanks Jennifer, I’ll keep that in mind for future books!
Chocolate Rose says
LOVE your summer recipes! The photos are amazing. I made the Southern Fried Chicken tonight and it was SO yummy. The chicken was incredibly well seasoned and came out very crispy on the outside with moist meat. I fried it in coconut oil and it was not greasy at all.
I’ve really been hoping that someone would create a LC gluten free “magazine”. I’ve had to change my woe to LCHF (no grains, pasta, beans, potatoes, fruit, sugars, bread, very few veggies, etc., etc., etc) and really miss reading cooking magazines. The article subject areas you’re considering would also be great. I really hope that you are able to go forward with your great idea!
Mellissa Sevigny says
Thanks so much! I loved the fried chicken too – I thought it came pretty close to the real thing!!! I’m working on the fall issue of the e-zine now, and it will include a few articles – I hope to ramp it up to a full on e-zine within a year’s time. We’ll see how it goes, but I appreciate the feedback and enthusiasm! It spurs me on to keep at it, so thanks! :)
Philip says
Hello Mellissa,
Congratulations on your recent success!
I’m new to the low carb diet, I eat fish other than that I’m vegetarian, are there useful recipes for me in your e zine?
Mellissa Sevigny says
Hi Philip, just rescued this from my spam folder or I would have replied sooner! There are lots of salads and side dishes, as well as some seafood dishes – so I think you would find it useful! If you don’t just let me know and I’ll be happy to refund you!
Kathy says
I bought the e-zine using my iPad and paid with Pay Pal but I don’t have it? I can’t find it anywhere. Can you help please?
KathyK
Mellissa Sevigny says
Hi Kathy, I just checked ejunkie and don’t have anything today under the name Kathy or with the email you registered this comment with. Did you use a different name or email account? Please email me directly at sevigm@yahoo.com so we can figure this out – if your order went through I’ll just send the file to you via email. Let me know, thanks!
Mellissa Sevigny says
Hello again Kathy, I just got a confirmation from paypal for you, and it had this email as the one it sent you the link to. Just in case you still haven’t gotten it, I am also emailing you a copy. Please let me know that you got it, OK? Enjoy! :)
Kathy says
Thank you so much for all the time and trouble to make sure I received this. I do have it on my iPhone and can read it there…..LOVE all the recipes, definitely worth the money. I still haven’t found it on my iPad but have teenage grandchildren coming for the 4th of July so I am sure one of them will be able to help their Grandmother out with this. :)

Mellissa Sevigny says
You’re so welcome Kathy, have a great weekend with the grandkids! :)

Ive just purchased my copy :D- see if you can spot the international purchase there.
As much as my hubby is going to give me the side eye for purchasing food porn, I’d like to support your cause as a long time stealth reader. I find your low carb recipes quite ingenious and different from the generic paleo site.
Although I must also admit thatas a couple who are struggling to stay keto , we can’t make too many of them, but the tuna salad, and ice cream recipes up here have me salivating. We have a professional Delonghi cecream machine that turns heavy cream into icy goodness and I think your icecream recipes will take that business a step further.
Looking forward to trying out the recipes. Well done and goodluck with the e-zine. Hubby says “nice”, when I told him about the idea in progress, that’s a big compliment from him :D
Mellissa Sevigny says
Thanks for purchasing the e-zine Betty, and for taking the time to comment! I was curious about what you meant about struggling to stay keto, and therefore not being able to make many of the recipes. Is it because of your daily carb limit, cost, or some other reason? I’m trying to make the recipes as keto friendly as possible, so any feedback on how I can make it easier for you would be appreciated! Thanks again! :)
betty says
Hi Mellissa,
One thing I also admire is your way of giving a personal reply to almost everyone. Thanks for taking the time to care :).
I mean that we are struggling to stay keto, because I’ve been eating low carb for over a year now with hardly a kilo gone, but prettier skin, and a toned (yet still fat)ass. I’ve figured its because I haven’t maintained a ketogenic state for long enough, I have been a very versatile cheat by baking almond banana bread french toasts and everything that could have hidden carbs or spike insulin intake.
Hubby is an avid bodybuilder without the showbiz:)- but he has actually gained body fat following my “type of keto”- which is baking everything gluten- flour free and a low use of sweeteners. I have low insulin resistance- so to get to where I want to be, I need to be totally true and on the narrow.
We would ideally like to go extremely clean – tuna patties, salmon, avocado melts, handful of raw nuts, protein powder fluff etc. That’s bodybuilder “keto”.
Well, that’s all in the past tense for today- I have your “blueberry lemon cheesecakes” (made with about 12 fresh strawberries ) in the oven :D … we’ve been looking for the perfect lowcarb cheesecake for over a year and its looking good : D…..
Thanks for the great job you do :)!
Mellissa Sevigny says
Hi Betty! It’s horribly ironic that I just found this in my spam folder from over a week ago, when you said how you appreciate me replying to everyone! SO sorry about that, but glad I was able to rescue it among the hundreds of spam comments in there! Hope that you liked the cheesecakes – and sorry if I’m contributing to your inability to go completely clean on keto! ;)
Cindy says
Hey Mellissa
For some reason the shopping cart gave me a hard time and said it would send an email to an old e-mail address! Meantime, i do see that PayPal has processed.
If possible to send to email, appreciated!
Thanks for what you do!
Mellissa Sevigny says
Hey Cindy, I see your order and that it went to a different email address. No worries, I’m sending a copy of the file to the email address I have on file for you. Enjoy the recipes and thanks for purchasing the e-zine! :)
Amy says
Bought it and can’t wait to try some of these. I agree that the Strawberry Shortcake and that chocolate cupcake might be at the top of my list. Always looking for some new recipes to try. Been doing LCHF for about three months and loving it!
Mellissa Sevigny says
Thanks Amy, hard for me to choose a favorite between the two – although the death by chocolate cupcake is pretty awesome! I love the creamy pudding filling! Yum…

Hi Melilissa
I ordered the ezine from a computer
I cant download the recipes from.
I’ve done this before and usually
it goes to my email and I download
it when I get home. I should have waited
but I didn’t. Can you send it to my
email please?
Mellissa Sevigny says
It’s on the way Rose, please let me know that you got OK!
Lia says
I bought it as soon as I saw it! It is beautiful and the recipes look great! First on the list… Strawberry shortcake!!! I also wanted to tell you I made your fishcakes the other day and they were amazing. I also loved the lemon shortbread recipe (and looking forward to trying the pecan shortbread). I made them into mini crusts in a mini muffin tin and filled them with lemon curd blended with mascarpone… Delicious! Thanks so much for all these recipes, they make dieting easy!
Mellissa Sevigny says
Thanks so much Lia! I LOVE that strawberry shortcake – hope you will too! :)
Glenys says
Have just downloaded this e-zine and quickly browsed through it. I am impressed and very happy I paid the $5 (or a bit more for us Aussies). The recipes look fantastic and I’m loving the syrup ideas to make cocktails. As it’s Friday, I’m going to have to try one this afternoon after work :-) Excellent layout and pics and I look forward to seeing more of your e-zines in the future.
Mellissa Sevigny says
Thanks so much Glenys! I’m glad you like it and I hope you enjoy that cocktail! :)
Lili says
Hi Melissa! I just started Keto with your 5 day soup diet and I’m down 5 lbs in 4 days!! I wanted to buy your summer and fall magazines. Looks like they were a few years back?? I don’t care how old they are. Can I still buy them?
Mellissa Sevigny says
Yes just follow the links!
Janet Hirsch says
I purchased the E book from my ipad, paid through pay pal, but now it has disappeared. It is nowhere on the I pad. I hope you can help.
Thanks,
Janet
Mellissa Sevigny says
Hi Janet, I’ve confirmed your purchase and have emailed you the file. Please let me know that you got it OK! Enjoy!
DJ Foodie says
Hi Mellissa, I just had someone ask me HOW this is delivered and can it be viewed on a Kindle? I’m a PC nerd and can generally figure pretty much anything out on a PC, but with many of the pads/pods/phones I get a bit lost. Any insight that I can relay? ~ Thanks!
Mellissa Sevigny says
Hey DJ! When they purchase through Ejunkie they’ll get a download link that is good for five attempts before it expires. Every once in awhile I’ll get an email from someone that they had trouble with that link, depending on their device. In those rare cases I email the file to them directly which takes care of it. The kindle app seems to mess with the file and break up the layout, but if you have a pdf reader on your kindle or tablet (you can download them free, I like Adobe reader the best), then you can view it on any device, even a smartphone. Hope that helps! And if they buy it and can’t get it to work, obviously I would refund them asap! So far nobody has had an issue viewing it though! Phew! :)
dITA says
Just downloaded my copy. What a wonderful array of Fantastic Healthy Food. Thanks again for making your hard work available to those of us who are not the least creative cooks (ME). Can’t wait to start making these recipes. Please keep up the great work.

Purchased!! I’m at work so cannot download till I get home, but am super excited!
Mellissa Sevigny says
Thanks Kelly!!!!
Trisha Woolever says
I just now purchased. Downloaded the pdf. and when I try to open it I get an error msg. I will try this at home tonight and see if the result is the same ..it says I can only try five times, sohopefully it is a prob on my end or with my browser or my adobe or something ??
error reads:
There was an error opening this document. The file was damaged and could not be repaired.
Mellissa Sevigny says
Trisha that shouldn’t have happened! Are you downloading to an ipad? Sometimes they don’t play well with ejunkie downloads for some reason. I have your email and I’m going to send you the file directly. Please make sure to let me know if you get it and can open it! Thanks!
Trisha Woolever says
No. Just IE, but at work :) So who knows. Got it. Thanks for just a fast response and just resolving it directly for me !
Mellissa Sevigny says
No problem Trisha, hope you enjoy the recipes! Thanks!!!!!
theresa says
Just downloaded the book and looking it over – recipes look very yummy! My comment so far is that one recipe calls for using a cookie recipe on your blog as a base, which is no big deal. BUT, it is included as a link, so if I’m making that recipe, I don’t have all the info in one place. I have to link to another site. Not a huge deal breaker, but its all electronic – it would have been easier to just include the recipe instead of linking to it. It is one of the recipes I want to try, so that’s one of the reasons I’m pointing that out. Looks really tasty though!!
Mellissa Sevigny says
Thanks for purchasing the e-zine, and for the feedback! I was conflicted about linking to the recipe for just the reason you mentioned (two separate places) but for the sake of space and having all the recipes in the actual e-zine be original and not from the blog, I did it anyway. I’m still not sure it was the right decision. I’ll make sure to keep that in mind for future issues though! Hope it’s not too inconvenient when you’re making it! Appreciate it Theresa! :)
Alice says
I can’t find a link to download the Summer Recipes e-zine? They look yummy!
Mellissa Sevigny says
There should be a visible “add to cart” button at the top and bottom of the post. Let me know if it’s not visible to you and what browser you are in – there may be an issue that I have to resolve. If so I’ll send you an email link – let me know and thanks! :)
Alice says
Ok, that explains it! I was in IE, no “Add to cart”. Switched to Chrome, it’s totally there. Ordering now. :-D
Anna says
I can’t find a link or button to order I Breathe I Am Hungry, could you send me a link? Thank you so much!
Mellissa Sevigny says
If you are viewing in Internet Explorer there appears to be a problem with the buttons. Try in a different browser if possible and they should be there, if not, I will be happy to send you a link!
Deb says
Thanks Melissa for the quick response. I want to get this….but how? I can’t find a link or “DOWNLOAD” button. I would have assumed that maybe it is not ready yet but the previous commenter (Pat) said she already downloaded it.
Mellissa Sevigny says
Hey Deb, this got lost in my spam folder and I just found it so not sure if you were able to download it at this point. There should be visible “add to cart” buttons at the top and bottom of the page. If they aren’t visible then it could be an issue with your browser. Someone reporting not seeing them while in Internet Explorer, but that they were there in Chrome. I hope this helps, meanwhile I’ll try to figure out a fix on my end. Thanks!
Deb says
Thanks…I read the other comment and tried in Firefox…it shows up there. Must be a problem with IE. Just got it! :)
Deb says
I just purchased “The Gluten Free Low Carber” and I am loving the recipes (and exquisite photos.) Is there much overlap in recipes with the new e-zine?
Mellissa Sevigny says
Thanks Deb! And no, the 25 recipes in the e-zine are completely new and are not available on the blog or in The Gluten Free Low Carber! A fact I should have made clear in the post originally – thanks to your feedback I updated it to say that so thank you!
I hope you enjoy the recipes! :)
Pat says
Downloaded this immediately and love it, love it, love it. The beautiful photographs, illustrations, and easy-to-read format is perfect. I love the TOC and entire layout is gorgeous. We don’t want to just read; the photographs make my mouth water. Also having a consolidated grouping of complementary recipes in one easy spot to find and enjoy is time-saving. Now which to choose to make first. – I’m heading to the beach for a 2 week stay, so I think I’ll start with the wonderful drinks then invite friends over for happy hour plus an elegant dinner one night. This was an ingenious idea and I hope you do one for each season of the year, fall, winter, and spring. Thanks so much. After I downloaded this, I uploaded it to my documents folder on Google “drive”. I love having my important documents location independent. I’ll even be able to read this on my Kindle via Google “Drive”. Love it!
Mellissa Sevigny says
Thank you so, SO much for taking the time to comment Pat! Your feedback means a lot! I am definitely planning to have at least one issue per season! I haven’t tested it on Google drive but I know it views great on my tablet with the free Adobe reader download, so try that if you have any trouble with it on your Kindle! Thanks again!
Matt says
Congrats….it looks awesome!
Mellissa Sevigny says
Thanks for keeping Hungry Jr. entertained while I worked long days on it! ;) XO
janette says
Curious about the sweetener you use in your drink recipes and dessert recipes before I purchase this cookbook. I have an aversion to all artificial sweeteners…So must of the time, to watch carbs I have to cut all sweets and drinks in general. Thanks!!
Mellissa Sevigny says
I have an entire page devoted to sweeteners in the pantry section Janette! I use the generic term sweetener in all the recipes and it measures equivalant to sugar so that you can use the exact amount of real sugar or whatever alternative sweetener you prefer for that amount of sugar. I even provide links to conversion tables of some of the more popular low carb sweeteners for people to figure out how much of each they would need. I hope that makes sense, it’s explained in greater detail in the book. Hope you like it!
