Today is Day one of the 3 day plan! My neuro highly suggested this diet, and I first read Keto Clarity to get knowledge on the subject.
Excited and nervous as this is a whole different way of eating.
What programs/ apps do you use to log your calories/fat/protein/etc? I tried to use My Fitness Pal using her recipes, and their nutritional info vs her is different. Plus they do not look at Net Carbs or Fiber unless you pay the $9.99/month. Suggestions?

Honestly I don’t even bother logging all of that – I just keep my carbs under 20g net and try not to overeat on the proteins. Some people have success with MFP but yes, now they make you pay. Not sure if there are others out there that are friendly to keto macros for free as I haven’t done that research, maybe someone else will chime in here who knows. Keto Clarity is a great book and I hope you have great success on these plans – keep us posted!!!

What are your thoughts on Unsweetened Almond Milk? I’m definitely a coffee drinker, and it’s weird drinking it with the heavy cream. I’d rather get my fat in something that I eat rather than drink, ya know?!

I love the almond milk in smoothies and things but not my coffee – it’s just too thin in consistency for my taste – but if you like it you should go for it! I’m heavy cream or bulletproof all the way!

Try Fat Secret to log Carbs/Fat/Protein etc. It’s free but and doesn’t do Net Carbs either, but does do Fibre, so easy to work out.

Thanks for that recommendation Melanie, I’ll check it out!!!

Hi, I am starting this Keto diet in the next day or so, and after reading over the 3 day kickstart, and the menus for the 7 week plan, I have a few questions on some of the things to eat/drink and ingredients. I normally don’t drink coffee, is there a substitute for that? and I live in a VERY rural area, with not much besides Walmart or Homeland to choose from in the way of groceries, so some of the ingredients like Feta cheese might be hard to come by, is there other options there as well?

You can omit the coffee or drink tea – as long as whatever you choose doesn’t have added carbs. You can definitely sub in different cheeses in different recipes according to taste and availability! I lived in rural South Carolina and had to shop at Walmart or Piggly Wiggly for years so I feel your pain when it comes to grocery shopping for anything remotely “fancy” lol!

Hey just wanted to check in. my name is Jenny and my Husband and I started the Keto diet 3 weeks ago. I am down 6 pounds, but I feel like I am losing more inches than actual weight. I’m not sure how much weight my husband has lost, but I can see he is losing inches.
We were on the Atkins diet, but I finally lost all interest in eating altogether because of how much time I had to spend on preparing the food. Your recipes are very easy to make in little time, thank you so much for all you do!

You’re so welcome Jenny! Thanks for letting me know that you guys are losing weight on the plan – I’m with you, the loss isn’t always obvious on the scale with me but I can see a big difference in how my clothes fit and know I’m losing inches so I try not to obsess about it! Congrats and keep us posted!

My husband is being very supportive in my keto menu choices. However, he doesn’t eat vegetables. Any low carbs suggestions too make for him that do not have veggies in them? I want him to continue this with me, but if he doesn’t eat enough food he will eat what he wants. He is not good at substituting himself. He’ll go back to fast-food. Help!
