An easy Keto Strawberry Vanilla Smoothie that is Squeaky Clean Keto compliant, and perfect for when you just can’t stand another egg for breakfast! Dairy free, Paleo, and Whole 30 friendly too!
Smoothies are a fantastic keto breakfast option, but creating some within the parameters of no dairy, nut milks, or sweeteners that would comply with the Squeaky Clean Keto Challenge guidelines was definitely not easy. I’m happy to say that this super tasty keto strawberry vanilla smoothie fits the bill, and is a fantastic break from eggs!
This easy keto breakfast smoothie is made with a base of canned coconut milk and water (to keep the calories and carbs down) with some frozen strawberries and vanilla extract thrown in.
Not using sweeteners makes this keto strawberry vanilla smoothie less sweet than I would normally prefer, but being off of all things sweet also makes your taste buds more sensitive to sweetness, so I don’t think you’ll miss it. Of course, the riper and sweeter your strawberries to start, the sweeter the final smoothie will be.
Using vanilla extract also boosts the illusion of sweetness and rounds out the flavors for a nice balance.
If you aren’t on the Whole 30 or SCKC, then you can absolutely boost the sweetness in this smoothie with some erythritol or other carb free sweetener. You can also make this keto strawberry vanilla smoothie with almond milk if you aren’t on a nut free plan like the SCKC.
Finally, blueberries or raspberries can be substituted for strawberries for a similar carb count. Using frozen berries eliminates the need for ice cubes and also keeps the flavors from being diluted.

I made this smoothy and it was more like the consistency of cold milk. :-(
Beverly Bouche says
I am sorry about this. I am allergic to strawberries. Can I use another fruit like raspberries, blackberries or blueberries.
Mellissa Sevigny says
Yes!

I made this when i was doing the SCKC and it was a nice treat in the midst of a very restrictive diet. I am currently just plain keto and made it again with sweetener, chia seeds, and a pinch of salt. I feel that the original recipe needs two things added: a pinch of salt and ice equivalent of water when using fresh strawberries. I am an experienced cook so knew to do this. I give it five stars for the nonsqueaky version and five for the squeaky as it is so nice to have as a treat on squeaky!

Delicious

Could we add flax and chia seed to this?
Angela MacRae says
This sounds yummy I will definetly have to try it :)
Nicole M. Foster says
This was delicious! Honestly, I didn’t think I would like it since it doesn’t have sweetener, but I was pleasantly surprised. Would make it again just like this even after SCKC. I had it for a snack but will be adding collagen protein to it if I make it for breakfast. Otherwise, I don’t think I’d last until lunch. lol

Made with almond milk and low carb sweetener. DELICIOUS!! Thanks for sharing.
Becky says
Probably a stupid question but is using refrigerator coconut milk acceptable? Obviously you wouldn’t add the water. Thanks!
Mellissa Sevigny says
yes as long as it doesn’t contain dairy, nuts or sweetener then you’re fine to use that on SCKC!
Patricia says
OMG – can’t believe you posted this “Smoothie” that is SCKC compliant! I was just about to write and ask if Almond Milk smoothies were OK and I hate to be one of those people who say “but, can I have this?” when you’ve clearly spelled out the rules. So now that I have your attention, I’ll take my chances: does sugar-free, nearly zero carb protein powder comply? (Isopure?) I’m thinking maybe not since it is a processed product but it would add protein.
Mellissa Sevigny says
I think Isopure is made from whey protein, which is dairy so no – if it’s egg protein or some other non dairy or nut protein then maybe. But I think it’s sweetened, so still no. Sorry! Try collagen protein which is unsweetened and usually made with beef.
