Can you believe it? We’re already on Day 6 of the 7 Day Beef and Butter Fast! If you’re still on the plan, congratulations—you’ve been marinating in discipline (and, likely, a lot of butter) for nearly a week now. Give yourself a pat on the back, or maybe an extra pat of butter on your next bite of perfectly seared ribeye. 🥩 You’ve committed to the week, and it’s almost over! 🙌🏻

When I first started this 7 Day Beef and Butter Fast Experiment, I thought Day 6 would look a lot more dramatic—like me, draped over the couch, whispering sweet nothings to a bowl of strawberries dramatic.
But honestly? It’s been surprisingly… not terrible!
Sure, I’ve had moments where I felt like my old cast iron skillet (seared, seasoned, and maybe a little burnt out), but overall, it’s been pretty smooth. There have been days where I’ve actually felt great, and the cravings have not been nearly as intense as I expected on this Beef & Butter fast.
There were also days that I was tired and mildly cranky, but since I expected that, I just rode it out, took some electrolytes, and it got better within a few hours.
And now here we are—the homestretch. The finish line is in sight, and whether you’re breezing through this Beef and Butter Fast or crawling forward with butter-slicked fingers, you’re almost there! 😅
This is the time to dig deep, stay focused, and keep the big picture in mind.
Think about why you started—was it to break a stall, reset cravings, or just try something new? Whatever your goals for this Beef and Butter Fast, take a moment to check in with yourself and celebrate how far you’ve come. 🥳
If you’re feeling a bit tired or over it, that’s okay too.
Use this final push to think about what comes next.
Maybe you’re planning to transition back to keto with a gentle reintroduction of veggies, or perhaps, like a lot of us in the Beef & Butter Facebook Group, you’re considering transitioning into Carnivore, or the 30 Day Squeaky Clean Keto Challenge (which will feel soooo luxurious compared to this!) ✨
Or just maybe, you are thriving on Beef and Butter and plan to keep it going for another week–or more! I’m kind of on board with this, but I may throw in an egg or two next week. I’m undecided right now, but will update you with my plans in our FB group when the time comes.
Whatever your next step is, just know that you’re building momentum right now—and that’s huge!
And hey, if you’re really struggling with beef and butter today, just remember: Monday you can eat something green again. And that’s worth holding on for! 🥗
Finish strong, friends! 💪🏼 I’ll see you on the other side of Day 7—where the butter is still flowing, but maybe with a side of broccoli this time.
We’ve got this! 🙌🏻

I’m nearly 8 months into carnivore (not strict, w/dairy) and have lost 20 lbs. In honesty, I cheated over Christmas but haven’t gained, just stalled. I hope to lose another 10-15 lbs. My hubby and adult son have lost over 35 lbs. I didn’t participate in the “beef and butter” challenge, but was very interested to see how it goes. I will add that since being on carnivore I have no inflammation, no joint stiffness and I eat dairy. It really is amazing! I’ve been Keto for years lost 25 lbs. (thank you Melissa for your fantastic keto recipes!) but never could get into what I call real menopause weight gain. Carnivore did it! I plan to go Ketovore after I lose a bit more weight. This is the best thing I’ve ever done. And…… my hubby said it’s the easiest diet for a male. More meat please!

Thanks for sharing your experience Nancy! I am still trying to get my husband on board and he’s waffling. 😂

Did you say waffles?
Mellissa Sevigny says
No waffles for you! 😂

Hi, Mellissa! It’s been quite a bit easier than I expected it would be! I have really not had any cravings! What a win! Very grateful for that.
Biggest struggle was some issues with my stomach, which I knew was a possibility. Needed encouragement yesterday morning starting Day 5, so I weighed myself. I knew it would be good news, as my jeans are looser. Lost four pounds! Yes, I know it is mostly water, but I have been holding on to the final 10 pounds for two years!
I believe I am heading to Squeaky Clean Keto after this. I have done it before, and you are correct… it will feel luxurious! Sorry for the long comment. Thanks again.

Thanks for sharing your experience and congrats on the weight loss! I think SCK is the perfect follow up to this plan and I will be joining you there in a bit but I’m still going strong on beef and butter and will continue for as long as I’m feeling good on it!

I actually want to continue with some adjustment!
I feel great! No sugar cravings!!

The no cravings is a major benefit – I’m in the same boat, still going strong on just beef, butter, and salt. I do still have coffee but I’m down to just one cup a day.
