I actually bumped this Easy Keto Rum Punch recipe up in my posting schedule on a whim this morning, since I’m visiting family in CT and it’s currently raining and the temperature outside is a balmy 48 degrees. We’re in an AirBnB rental and I’m not even sure how to turn the heat on – meanwhile there are still windows open somewhere because it was over 90 degrees 2 days ago (welcome to New England) and the house is huge and rambling and it takes 20 minutes to go around and shut them all. Since it will be hot tomorrow, it feels like too much effort to bother, because I’ll just have to go around and open all the windows again sometime in the next 12 hours.
So I’ll sit here with my teeth chattering instead. Because I’m all about efficiency. Also I heard it burns a lot of calories and I need all the help I can get. ?
Anyway, I’ve been up since 4:30am and I’m currently on the couch with a blanket and a cup of coffee that was hot 5 minutes ago, but I’m pretty sure I can see ice forming around the edges of the rim already. I’m dreaming of sunny days by the pool when we get back to Roatan next week, and you can be sure that this Easy Keto Rum Punch will be my bevvie of choice when I feel like getting my keto sip on!
When we were living on Ambergris Caye in Belize, rum punch was on every restaurant menu, handed out free when you checked into your resort, and stocked by the gallon on every catamaran and boat for hire. There’s something about that sweet tropical elixir that screams “WOOHOO LET THE VACATION FUN BEGIN!”
When it’s blazing hot and you feel like you might spontaneously combust any second, those first sweet sips of rum punch are complete bliss. Unfortunately, even when I wasn’t doing keto, by the time I got to the bottom of the cup it went from tasting deliciously fruity, to unbearably sweet and syrupy.
Enter this Easy Keto Rum Punch recipe. Not only is it just as refreshing and delicious as the traditional version, because it doesn’t contain all of that sugar it won’t kick you out of ketosis – AND the last sip will be just as delicious as the first! Which might actually be dangerous if you know what I mean!

Just so you know, there’s more than one way to go about a keto friendly rum punch. I’ve used unsweetened fruit punch mix (like Kool-aid) and then added water, my sweetener of choice, and white rum to it – great if you want control of how sweet it is and what kind of sweetener it contains.
Or you can buy a pre-sweetened fruit punch (like Crystal Light) and just add the water and rum to it. Both of those methods actually produce an acceptable basic keto rum punch.
BUT, my favorite way is to use the diet V-8 Splash Tropical (not a sponsored post, this is just what I like to use,) then add some unsweetened powdered fruit punch and rum to it. This produces the most authentic flavor and velvety mouthfeel – as though there were real pureed fruit in it, rather than just fruit punch flavored water and rum.
Full disclosure, the photos show the version without the V-8 Splash because I was shooting on location and forgot to buy it when I was shopping and didn’t feel like driving 30 minutes each way to go get it. Still delicious!

Easy Keto Rum Punch – Low Carb
A low calorie, keto rum punch recipe for all of your summer pool party needs!
- Prep Time: 2 minutes
- Total Time: 2 minutes
- Yield: 10 oz keto rum punch 1x
- 8 ounces diet V-8 Splash Tropical Blend
- 1/8 teaspoon Kool-aid Tropical Punch powder (unsweetened)
- 2 ounces white rum
- ice cubes
- Combine the juice, punch powder, rum and ice cubes in a cocktail shaker and shake for 20 seconds or until the powder is fully dissolved.
- Pour into a 16 ounce tumbler full of ice.
- Serve immediately with optional fruit and umbrella garnish.
Net carbs per 10 ounce serving = 2g*
